Spring is here and as our winter season is winding down, we are so excited
to begin another, fresh new season. We have many, new additions to our
collection. Our passion for exotic new roasts continues to grow and we love
supplying you with fresh ideas as well as the best cup of coffee
possible. Please note that our market dates will be posted on our
calendar. Often we take cancellations from other vendors when they can
not attend a market so do not be suprised to see us pop up
unexpectedly.
This past winter has seen a substantial increase in the cost of food
and beveridges. Coffee beans have been especially affected, sadly to say!
We will be increasing our cost of coffee to $13/lb but will
continue to honor deals such as two pounds for $24. The highlight of our
coffee day is receiving your wonderful feedback and requests. We are here
to make your coffee experience better with each cup. Come out for a visit
to the market, we love to see each and everyone of you. Take care!
Blessings to Our Coffee Family Laurie and Terry

Dear Friends: We are nearly finished our fall markets with just a few more left. Please come out to visit us at the winter market where we will be at Riley Park near Nat Bailey Stadium on November 13th 10 – 2pm. Our coffee will be at the market every second week. We will have freshly roasted coffee in all different varieties. Enjoy the classics loved by so many as well as some new roasts debuting later in the fall in time for the holidays. For those living in South Surrey, White Rock, Ladner and parts of Langley we offer free home delivery. Our coffee is also available through shipping straight to the door. Snuggle up to the fire with this aromatic mug of Pumpkin Latte. Pumpkin Spice Latte Note: if you are using the pumpkin spice syrup, you do not need the canned pumpkin Ingredients: 1-2 shots espresso (1/4 C. espresso or 1/2 C. French Sumatra 1 c. half and half 1 tb. canned pumpkin :: 1 tsp. Torani Pumpkin Spice Syrup In a small saucepan, stir pumpkin puree into half and half. Add the syrup. Heat on medium until steaming, stirring constantly. You do not want the milk to burn. In a blender on high speed, use whip setting for 20 seconds until foaming. Pour the mixture into a tall glass and pour French Sumatra coffee over the top. Dust with ground pumpkin pie spice or nutmeg. Guess What: A pound of tea, on average, has nearly twice the caffeine of a pound of roasted coffee Come and see us at the market ! Blessings Laurie |

Spring is not the best of seasons! Cold and flu are two good reasons, Wind, rain and other sorrow, Warm today and cold tomorrow.
Author Unknown
Dear friends: Truer words were never spoken. As I sit here writing to you, I am shivering as I hear the rain and wind slapping against the windowpane. Icy sheets of gray rain blown by a wind that is chilling to the bone. Yet.... it was just days ago that I marvelled at my lilac tree abundant with vibrant green leaves. Not to mention the three bird feeders it holds. They were swinging back and forth with the activities of chickadees. So many I could not count. The birdsong was almost deafening. All in a matter of days. We are so excited to announce that we are expecting again! Due in early April, our next family member will arrive with a bit of mystery.Unlike the others, our newest member will arrive from South Asia.India to be exact. "Wind and Sea" will sail from Monsoon Malabar. This intiguing coffee has a history dating back to the days of the British Raj, a period of British Colonial rule in South Asia. Coffee was sent from India to Europe is sailing ships. The beans left port green, but the six week journey exposed the beans to monsoon winds and sea breezes that left the beans with a distinct flavour. Fullbodied, low acid and dinstinct are descriptions that are true, however woodsy, spicey , deep and mysterious are more alluring. We welcome you to meet our new arrival as soon as possible.Possibly our most exotic! Please continue to ask why our coffee is $11/lb. For every pound we sell, the extra $1 goes to help educate the children of Sierra Leone, one of the poorest countries in Africa. Please visit the website www.fvchs.bc.ca to truly understand the importance of this project.
Did you know that the world drinks 400 billion cups of coffee per year ? Let''s change that to read 400 billion cups of fair trade, organic coffee. Can you imagine how that would impact our planet? Come and visit us at Wise Hall 1886 Adanac St. Vancouver every second Saturday 10 - 2pm See You March13th ! Laurie

' Happy New Year
Dear Friends: We would like to wish you all a very Happy New Year! The beginning of 2010 is quite unlike last year. Scarves and mittens were most welcomed but I do not find it necessary at all right now. Do you ever tire of the long, dark and wet days? I do and the best way to work through it is coming home to beauty in light. Even the most humble abode can be filled light. Firelight, candlelight, soft lamplight, ect all tend to elevate the mood. I also get myself little items like fresh flowers and unusual magazines that make coming home inviting.Once I have a big fire blazing in the hearth, a steamy cup of "Winter''s Night" and two dogs snoring at my feet, it can storm all it wants outside. We love our German Shepherds and let our one at present, Coby, come in to lay by the fire. All in all, a peaceful and serene way to settle in for a long, winter night. We miss seeing you all so please come to our first Winter Market of the season, on January 16th, 10-2pm at 1882 Adanac St. WISE Hall! It has been quite a while since our last one so we are bringing in lots of beans. Our last roast will finish tomorrow afternoon so you will have the freshest beans possible. Take Care and do come by for a visit! Blessings Laurie . |
